Is it Another Shake Up at GSA
Just as we thought things were settling down in Washington and all the players were in place at least for the duration of the President’s term, more changes at the General Services Administration are taking place. Dan Tangherlini was appointed Administrator for GSA approximately 3 years ago and now has announced his sudden departure effective February 13, 2015. Dan is a pretty transient fellow moving from the Fenty administration as City Administrator to AMTRAK to GSA

Denise Turner Roth, Deputy Administrator, will step into the position of Acting Administrator as Dan Tangherlini exists his offices at 1800 F Street in N.W., Washington, DC. There has been no mention of where Dan will rest his shoes next, but it would be no surprise if he ended up back in the District Government. The newly elected Mayor, Muriel Bowser’s political career was certainly mentored and shaped by former Mayor Adrian Fenty. Dan was Fenty’s City Administrator and Fenty is an important part of Bowser’s transition team.
There is no real word yet as to where Dan is going, but someone as talented as Dan will certainly end up in a spot where he can continue to make invaluable contributions. GSA is an important agency with a pivotal mission. Think of GSA as America’s place to shop and sell in order to make the business of the nation possible.
